Supporter Spotlight: Lana Hinton Takes On the Bibbulmun Track for Brain Cancer Research

The Daniela Dwyer Foundation is proud to shine a light on one of our incredible supporters, Lana Hinton, who is currently embarking on an extraordinary challenge to help change the future for people living with brain cancer.

Lana has set out to walk the entire 1,000km length of the Bibbulmun Track — solo — covering an average of 25km per day and sleeping under the stars across Western Australia's stunning South West. Her goal: to raise vital funds to support the work of the Daniela Dwyer Foundation and drive the research that will transform how brain cancer is diagnosed and treated.

“Help me make a difference! I can't run a marathon, and don't want to ride a bike 100km, but I CAN walk 1000km in 40 days.”

A Deeply Personal Connection

Lana's connection to DDF is deeply personal. She shared that back in 2014, a friend introduced her to Dee, saying she might need someone to show her around Perth — from shopping and hair appointments to the best bars for a bottle of rosé. From that moment, Lana knew they would be lifelong friends.

Today, Lana is honouring that friendship in the most inspiring way possible. We are humbled by Lana's courage, generosity, and determination. Her journey is a powerful reminder that there are many ways to make an impact — and that every step counts.

How You Can Help

If you'd like to support Lana's incredible 1,000km walk and contribute to life-changing research, please donate if you are able. Every dollar goes directly toward funding brain cancer research at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute.

From all of us at DDF, thank you, Lana. We are cheering you on every step of the way. 💛
